Mr. I F Kapdi the founder of SAF Refrigeration Engineering in 1974 as a small company which handled repairs and maintenance of refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation systems. Mr. I F Kapdi, who has over 30 years experience in the field of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems developed his expertise with hands-on work on board various ships and vessels being built by Mazagon Dock Ltd (a premier shipyard owned by the Govt. of India), being repaired in Mumbai Port Trust (a Govt of India undertaking) and other ship repair facilities in and around Mumbai.

Mr. Mukhtar I Kapdi, the founder’s son as a partner in 1984. Mr. Mukhtar I Kapdi, who brought with him a new vision and a modern perspective, reorganized the company to meet the increased demand and the enhanced sophistication of the equipment. He had been assisting his father for several years while continuing his education and worked his way up through the ranks of the company. His long stint in various capacities allowed him to develop excellent rapport with the work force of the company as well as clients & their managers. Mr. Mukhtar I Kapdi is now the Commercial Director of the company. His responsibilities include Overall control of the company, marketing, procurement and finance.

Mr. Nizam I Kapdi, the founder’s younger son has been assisting major technical work for the company right from his early teens. Later on he joined the company in 2002 as partner. Currently, he is the Technical director of the company. His area of responsibilities includes supervision and control of various work sites, liaison with clients & their managers, industrial relations & quality assurance/control.

Mr. Khalil A. Shirgaonkar, Director(Finance & Administration), joined the company in the year 2000. A Commerce Graduate, he has brought with him years of experience in Direct Taxation, Accounts and Legal Matters. Currently he has been spear heading the Administration and Finance department.

Mr. Mehboob , Director Operations, HVAC Engineer, joined the company in the 2006. A Mechanical Engineer by profession he has worked extensively on some of the most complicated projects for the company using his designing and application capabilities. He forms and indispensable part of the organization today.

Mr. Dawood Malim, Project In-charge, has been an integral part of the company since more than a decade. He has got vast experience of working in the field of HVAC. He is currently handling major projects for Mazgaon Dock Limited.
